Saturday 8th March 2008

Starting at Town Gate at 10.00 hrs
Archaeological Walk No 2

Led by Dr Mike Hodder. The walk will take you around varying historical sites including Keepers Pool, Blackroot Pool and the deer park boundary. It is approx 2.25 miles and takes about an hour and half to complete (possibly longer !)

Bedford Suite Sutton Town Hall - Starting at 7.30 pm

Sunday 11th May 2008

Banners Gate - 05.00 hrs
Dawn Chorus

Led by Robert Skeates. This year our annual Dawn Chorus walk starts at Banners Gate, 5.00 am prompt. The walk will be slightly different from previous years as we don't yet know the chosen route - so it should be even more interesting. Don't forget to set those alarm clocks for very early !


Saturday 12th July 2008

Hartopp Gate -10.00 hrs
Walk led by Mike Hodder

Mike will be taking a new route to see some of the lesser known historical features of the Sutton Park finishing off at the Blackroot Bistro for light refreshments. The walk will take in Bracebridge Pool.


Sunday 10th August 2008

Newhall Mill Yard - Starting at 14.00 hrs
Tour of Newhall

Led by Marian Baxter. The walk will take in the Mill and the surrounding valley and takes about 2 - 3 hours to complete.


Saturday 18th October 2008

Meet at Powells Pool Car Park at 10.00 hrs
Banks and Ditches walk

Led by Dr Mike Hodders the walk will include aspects and the history of banks and ditches in Hollyhurst and Wyndley Glade. Approx 2hrs.
